Lovely Apt Great Central Local, sleeps 4, Peloton Bike

Very clean apartment. Spacious rooms. Comfortable bed. Close to Metro stop.

Great place to stay for New Year's week. Quiet street just outside of the crowded downtown but never waited for more than 5-10 minutes for rideshare. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen perfectly stocked to make meals when we didn't want to go out. Would definitely stay there again for an extended stay in DC.

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The neighborhood is old, but well-kept. We were concerned at first when we approached the apartment. But don’t let the exterior fool you. Inside, the apartment is well-appointed, nicely furnished, well-equipped, and very clean.

Our host, Charlotte, was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. She was a delight to work with.

There are plenty of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The Metro was just a few blocks away.

Overall, a very good choice for us.

The Lovely Shaw Apartment was a perfect fit for our five day stay in Washington DC. Unlike a hotel or inn, we could start our day as we do at home. The apartment was beautifully furnished and comfortable. The Metrorail was a block and a half away and many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Thank you to Charlotte for being available when I had questions!

Thank you to charlotte at lux bnb for a lovely apartment! It was spacious, very clean and perfectly situated in the city. We were able to walk or take public transportation to monuments, museums and the zoo. It was a great trip and I would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable, great location, fully stocked kitchen, and easy access to shopping and restaurants. I would recommend this place 100%. Also, plan on eating at Supra not far from the rental location.

We had a great time at this spot. The location is perfect and the place was just lovely for the two of us to use as homebase as we explored the area's many offerings.

The property was perfect for me as a single traveller and was as described. Clean, well appointed and quiet. I would rent again.

The only issue was the owner's company and its interface with VRBO, which created communication challenges. Both VRBO and the property manager were responsive through their separate emails/phone numbers, but the confusion was never fully resolved and I couldn't communicate through the VRBO site.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. However, there were some aspects of the stay that were less than expected. The location is perfect for those who like a vibrant nightlife, but we were looking for a more subdued environment. The backyard was less than inviting due to having to climb a steep set of stairs (making it inaccessible for those with mobility issues) and no exit. The backyard also faces the rear of a building and parking lot.
Speaking of parking, a little more information about the street parking arrangements would have been appreciated.
Still, the property was adequate for our needs and well stocked. Charlotte was a pleasure.

This was an ideal spot for our stay. It was clean and well furnished, including high quality cookware, which is unusual in rentals! The manager was very responsive when we had questions. I would definitely stay here again. Renters just need to be aware that there is not a washer and dryer on the premises.

Everything about this rental was perfection....... Great location, clean, comfortable, effortless rental, and we were provided great information for our stay. The bed in this rental was like sleeping on a cloud! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting Washington DC. We had a great time!

this rental was everything it stated and more. The bed was amazing. 1st time in a while my back didn't hurt after waking up. Location was good. It was very quiet which was very high on my list of needs. I had the lower level apartment and it was quite spacious. Definitely could work for a small family. I walked ALOT while there and felt safe. I also Uber'd which was fairly expensive but worth it not knowing the area.

While this well-appointed, spacious apartment was in a good location (near Metro, restaurants, and cultural sites), we found it had some unexpected drawbacks that photos just didn’t capture. The stairs down to the basement apartment were uneven and difficult to negotiate. Inside, the floor leading into and out of the kitchen had raised transition strips that presented a trip hazard. The internet was slow which made making from the apartment challenging. There was lots of noise from the occupants in the upper unit (perhaps carpeting could help with this?). And most annoying of all, we found ourselves battling mosquitoes during most of our waking hours. (I think there was pooling water underneath the loose grate at the front door.) Unfortunately, we’re not likely to return to this rental.

The pictures did not reflect the fact that this was a basement apt, and the stairs were very steep. It made a big difference in our ease of coming and going because of a disability. Otherwise it was very nice and well located.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this Shaw are apartment. The bed was super comfortable, the whole place was clean and there were top-end pots/pans, small appliances in the kitchen. Living room/kitchen is roomy, bedroom is a little on the small side but it works out just fine. Best thing about this location is that it is literally right around the corner from a Metro station so it was super easy for us to use public transportation to get around DC to see the sights. You can't go wrong with this beautifully decorated and greatly located apartment. Communication during booking and stay was superb as well.

The front room and kitchen were the stars with plenty of flair, functionality and room. The bedroom and bathroom were a little tight but made up for it with decor and comfort. Note: we were moving our daughter to a local university, so no problem with the three of us in the space.
The local neighborhood was interesting and diverse. Some good local restaurants (mainly take-out for us). Parking could be a challenge, especially Fri-Sun, but the visitor parking pass came in very handy.
And now the exception...there were at least 2 nights/mornings (of our 6) where it seemed we were next to a race track. Muscle cars one night and ATV's/off-road motorcycles on another. Obviously beyond the homeowner's control but a BIG nuisance (and sleep depriver) nonetheless.
Lastly, while it measures out to a 4 mile round trip to the White House, we always used our rental car to visit the federal landmarks...and we are avid walkers/hikers! Save the walking/hiking for the landmark areas, which will be a very rewarding and tiring experience by itself!

Excellent location

Perfectly clean, well appointed, wonderfully located garden apartment we plan to stay in many more times. A walk to our family, friends, cafes and shops and near the Mall.

Unit was cute, cozy, comfortable. Location is fantastic!

This incredibly well-appointed apartment is in the perfect location. The apartment itself was very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything one needed for home cooking (which I did)! Truly couldn't ask for anything more. And the location was perfect - I had easy access to everywhere I went in DC. The owner provided a parking pass for street parking, which was pretty easy to find. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This lovely spot met all my needs. Steps away from the U Street MetroRail in a beautiful historic neighborhood of WDC, the property is located along a neighborly, tree-lined street and is easily accessed through keyless entry with many amenities to make my visit complete. Wireless internet access, full kitchen, comfortable furniture and the best sleep I’ve encountered in a while. This Lovely Apartment in Shaw is currently bookmarked on my computer
